Anuradhapura Prison Incident Unacceptable - Namal

COLOMBO (News 1st): Minister Namal Rajapaksa states that no inmates were terrorized at the Anuradhapura Prison. The Minister made this statement when he visited the Anuradhapura Prison yesterday (16) to inquire about the condition of long-term imprisoned prisoners. The Minister also spoke about ensuring the security of the detainees; " The media and Opposition political parties had alleged that such an incident had taken place. The Prime Minister and the President instructed the authorities to pay attention to this allegation and conduct a fair investigation after it took place. The Minister too has resigned from the post while investigations are being carried out. We will not allow anyone's security to be compromised.
