Five including drug trafficker arrested for assaulting cops

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested 05 people including a drug trafficker for attacking police officers from the Colombo Crimes Division during a raid in Dematagoda on Wednesday (15).
Police Spokesperson SPP Attorney-at-Law Nihal Thalduwa speaking to News 1st said the assault on police officers took place after a drug trafficker was arrested with over 10 grams of heroin.
Associates of the drug trafficker had hurled stones at the police officers in order to rescue the suspect.
The Police Spokesperson said that shots were fired into the air, in order to control the situation.
