COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s Minister of Ports and Shipping Rohitha Abeygunawarde inspected goods that have been decaying and disintegrating for years at the Bonded Warehouse at the Colombo Harbour.
According to the Minister, Sri Lanka Customs initiated legal action over the illegal importation of many goods to the country, and most of these cases remain unsolved.
The Minister said that the Director-General of Sri Lanka Customs was instructed to complete the legal processes as soon as possible.
Minister Abeygunawardena said that six such warehouses in the Ports Authority premises were inspected yesterday (14).
He said the neglected warehouses should be renovated and turned into beautiful places as soon as possible.
