COLOMBO (News 1st): The Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath B. Pujitha says that the application deadline for G.C.E. Advanced Level and Scholarship examination, which is today (15), will not be extended.
He also said that the Department of Examinations has received 92% of the relevant applications for the Advanced Level examination.
However, Teachers Unions say that they will not take action regarding the submission of examination paper correction applications until the Government presents them with a fair solution to the salary anomaly issue.
Therefore, the union has requested the Examination Department to extend the period for accepting applications for G.C.E. Advanced level and Scholarship examinations.
Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Ministry of Education Prof. Kapila Perera has issued a circular stating that if a student is unable to appear for the examination, the respective principals should bear the responsibility
The Secretary of the Ministry has also requested principals to send applications of students for the G.C.E. Advanced Level and Scholarship examinations to the Department of Examinations.
