COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's COVID-19 threat level is still high, warned Dr Padma Gunaratne, the President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association.
'Even though there is a decline in numbers in the present wave, it is important for us to take measures to prevent another surge in cases,' she added.
'We are reporting around 2,000 COVID-19 infections daily, which means there may be around 6,000 cases within the community,' she said while the daily death toll is also around 150.
She said the Delta variant has spread fast across Sri Lanka and it cannot be said that Sri Lanka is not in the Red Zone.
