COLOMBO (News 1st): The Commissioner General of Essential Services has been fully authorized to advise public officials, the Presidential Secretary states.
Accordingly, the Commissioner General of Essential Services is authorized to advise public officials subject to Section 5 of the Public Security Ordinance, a statement issued by the Department of Government Information reads.
The President recently acted to enforce the emergency regulations to stop traders from concealing essential food items including paddy, rice, sugar and inconveniencing the consumers, the statement reads.
Therefore, the post of the Commissioner General of Essential Services was established, it adds.
