739 persons arrested for violating lockdown

COLOMBO (News 1st): Another 739 persons have been arrested on charges of violating lockdown regulations within the last 24 hours. The Police Media Unit stated that within the last 24 hours from 06:00 a.m. yesterday (03) until 06:00 a.m. today (04), 70 vehicles were also taken into custody. The total number of persons arrested on charges of violating lockdown regulations since October last year is 64,647. At present, 13 Police roadblocks have been set up in the Western Province. According to the police, 1,959 persons and 1,335 vehicles entering and exiting the Western Province were inspected at these roadblocks yesterday.
