COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka has been named as a 'Extreme red level' country considering the number of COVID-19 deaths, the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) says. Specialist Dr. Malinka Sumanathilake, Vice-President of the SLMA said that Sri Lanka is at the extreme level considering the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and it should be made a 'green area' or a relatively safe area to reopen the country. "We cannot bring down any tourists without making the country a relatively safe area. To make it a green area, the number of patients identified per day should reduce to about 950" He said. Dr. Sumanathilake added that only 2.5% of the total amount of PCR tests done per day should result in COVID-19 positive cases, and if we are able to arrive at such a situation, the country can be reopened, relaxing all travel restrictions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Weze6gTjTgw
