COLOMBO (News 1st): Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has instructed officials to take all necessary measures to provide oxygen to COVID-19 patients in need, without any shortage.

In a statement from the Ministry, the Minister has instructed health officials to ensure there is a constant daily supply of oxygen to every hospital in the country.

The Minister also stressed that no COVID-19 patient should be allowed to die without oxygen.

The daily oxygen production in the country is around 80 tons and the demand for oxygen has increased to a high level. As a result, additional stocks of oxygen have been imported from countries such as India and Singapore.
