Doctors warn of another disease spreading among COVID-19 infected children

COLOMBO (News 1st): Pediatric Consultant in charge of the ICU at the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital, Dr. Nalin Kitulwatte says that three children who are already infected with COVID-19 are also receiving treatment for a new disease 'MIC - S'. He said that the disease has been recorded in many parts of Sri Lanka on children who were infected with COVID-19, adding that MIC-S is evident two to six weeks after contracting COVID-19. He noted that the symptoms of this disease are red spots on the skin and reddening of eyes. He added that MIS-C is witnessed among one in every 5,000 children.
