639 arrested for violating lockdown regulations

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police have arrested 639 persons on charges of violating lockdown regulations during the last 24 hours ending at 6:00 a.m. today (24). Police say that a total of 57,435 people have been arrested for violating lockdown regulations since the onset of the pandemic. At present, 13 road blocks have been established in the Western Province alone. A total of 618 vehicles and 1,017 persons leaving the Western Province and 751 vehicles and 1,267 persons entering the Western Province were subjected to road block checks yesterday, police added.
