No curfew passes issued by Police: Spokesperson

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa says that no curfew passes will be issued by the Police. He said this while participating in a press conference held at the Government Information Department today (22). SSP Nihal Thalduwa further stated that curfew permits required for freight services and other essential services can be obtained from the Divisional and District Secretariats of the relevant region and if there are previous licenses, they can be renewed via those offices. He added that even if persons do not possess the relevant curfew pass, Police personnel have been instructed to check whatever documents in possession of an individual, and to let them pass subject to a reasonable excuse.
