Nine lives claimed by road accidents within last 24 hours

COLOMBO (News 1st):Road accidents have caused nine fatalities within the last 24 hours, Police Spokesperson SDIG Ajith Rohana says. The Police Spokesperson mentioned that based on statistics, it has been revealed that pedestrians and motorcycle riders are the most vulnerable parties to road traffic accidents. Therefore, he stressed that it is the responsibility of all to take precautionary measures to ensure road safety. The Senior Deputy Police Chief further noted that within the last 10-days, the highest number of accidents were reported in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces.
