COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan Health Trade Unions have called on the government to increase PCR tests to at least 50,000 per day, to detect COVID-19 cases in the country.
Saman Ratnapirya, a trade union leader alleged the government is conducting around 16,000 to 18,000 PCR tests per day, which only detect around 1100 COVID-19 cases.
He further slammed the government for the issue on vaccination adding that the government must be responsible for those above 60 years receiving only one vaccine dose.
