2,961 COVID-19 cases on Sunday (08); 94 COVID deaths confirmed for Saturday (07)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka recorded a total of 2,961 COVID-19 cases on Sunday (08), confirmed the Department of Government Information.

2,956 of these cases were from the Post-Avurudu Cluster and the other 05 were those who tested positive for the coronavirus after returning from overseas.

Accordingly, a total of 31,620 COVID-19 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals.

Sri Lanka has a confirmed total of 329,994 COVID-19 infection of which 293,357 have recovered.

The country's death toll jumped to 5,111 with 94 deaths confirmed for Saturday (07).
