COLOMBO (News 1st): Another consignment of China’s Sinopharm vaccines will reach the island today (Jul. 27), the State Ministry of Production, Supply, and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals said.
The consignment of 1.6 million Sinopharm jabs is received as a donation from the government of China, Prof. Channa Jayasumana, the State Minister of Production, Supply, and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals told News 1st.
According to State Minister Prof. Jayasumana, the consignment includes 1.6 million syringes as well.
As of now, with today’s donation set to arrive in the country, Sri Lanka has received 10.7 million Sinopharm vaccines doses from China.
State Minister Prof. Jayasumana noted that he will attend the event to accept the Sinopharm donation at the Bandaranaike International Airport today, along with the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
