Two remanded for abusing teenage girl in Norochcholai

COLOMBO (News 1st): Two suspects, including a father, have been remanded until August 2 next year for abusing a 13-year-old girl in Norochcholai, police said. The arrest was made following a tip-off received by the Norochcholai Police, Police Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana noted. Investigations have revealed that the teenage girl had been abused by her father and aunt. The Norochcholai Police are conducting further investigations. Meanwhile, the police spokesperson has warned that strict action will be taken for abusing children. The officers-in-charge of the Child and Women Bureau in 500 police stations have been instructed to take action against such offences, he said.
