COLOMBO (News 1st): Legal action will be instituted under the provisions of the Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance, against those who hold wedding ceremonies in violation of the health guidelines, the Public Health Inspectors' Union (PHI) of Sri Lanka said.
All wedding ceremonies in the country will be subjected to an inspection starting from Friday (Jul. 23), Upul Rohana, the President of the PHI Union told News 1st.
"The PHI Union had received photographs and complaints regarding wedding ceremonies that were held in the recent past, without following the COVID-19 health guidelines. Therefore, wedding ceremonies will be inspected from today," Upul Rohana stressed.
The Head of the COVID-19 Task Force was also informed on the matter and the Director-General of Health Services has issued instructions in this regard, PHI Union Chief Upul Rohana further noted.
