Chinese man arrested for attempting to enter Colombo Harbour without following procedure

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Ports Authority Security Division arrested a Chinese national and 04 Sri Lankans on Sunday (18) for attempting to enter the harbour premises.

They were handed over to the Colombo Foreshore Police for investigations and it was revealed that the Chinese national was operating a manpower agency for the Colombo Port City project.

"They were arrested at the number 03 Vimaladharma Gate. The Chinese national had attempted to transport the Sri Lankans to the work-site inside the harbour as he was lacking human resources,' said the Police Spokesperson adding there is a process that needs to be followed when entering the port premises.
