COLOMBO (News 1st); The World Health Organization stands by the government of Sri Lanka to ensure all national targets are met, said Dr. Alaka Singh the WHO Representative to Sri Lanka on Thursday (15) following an inspection of the latest Army-manned Community Vaccination Center at the Vihara Maha Devi Park in Colombo.
The general public above 30 years of age in the Western Province are able to get the first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine at the Colombo Vihara Maha Devi Park open theatre.
Proof of permanent residence in the Western Province by way of production of the NIC with Electricity or Telephone Bill or a copy of the Electoral List or a residential proof from the Grama Niladhari is required to receive the vaccine at this new Community Vaccination Centre at Vihara Maha Devi Park.
“The environment, the very systematic way in which people are being vaccinated, the support, the additional support in terms of the ambulance and the doctors being present in case of an adverse event which of course has not happened and it is really good to see this and we hope that this will be maintained,” said Dr. Singh.
