COLOMBO (News 1st); Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella confirmed on Sunday (11) that he recently sought legal advice on the media. Denying Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa’s accusations that the government was conspiring to suppress Sirasa, the Minister said he consulted 'well-known' lawyers in the country for legal advice. Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa on Monday (12) said what in fact has taken place was a secret meeting based on the Sirasa Media Network and alleged plans are being drafted to suppress Sirasa. 'When the government ignores the issues of the people, the people will be compelled to take to the streets and no one can take away that right,' said the opposition leader. He said the conduct of politicians who remain close with media personnel when in the opposition and then conduct themselves differently when they come into power, is nothing but despicable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKzOcr-wf00
