COLOMBO (News 1st); Colombo, suburbs and many other parts of the country experienced high winds on Friday (09) night and early on Saturday (10).

Strong gusty winds up to 60 kmph are likely at times over western slope of the Central hills, said the Disaster Management Center.

The DMC added that gusty winds up to 50 kmph at times are likely in Northern, North-Central, North-Western and Southern provinces,Trincomalee district and Western coastal areas.

The wind speed can increase up to (60-70) kmph in the deep and shallow sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo and Hambantota, it added.
