Port unions seeks probe into procurement of masks

COLOMBO (News1st): The All Ceylon Ports General Employees Union has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department seeking an investigation into the procurement of face masks. "The Sri Lanka Ports Authority has purchased masks at 40 rupees a unit," Niroshan Goraganage, the general secretary of the union said. "These masks can be purchased for 20 rupees,". He pointed out that the Sri Lanka Ports Authority has purchased masks worth Rs 750,000. "Who is benefitting through these funds?" Goraganage queried.
