COLOMBO (News 1st): Three suspects including a police sub-inspector, arrested for the possession of heroin worth Rs 500 million, were remanded until July 22. The order to remand the suspects was issued by Galle Chief Magistrate Harshana Kekulawela today. The Police Narcotics Bureau told the court that the police sub-inspector had been transporting narcotics in uniform. Police requested the court for an order to remand the suspects in a separate area, as suspicions of foreign links to the narcotic racket have arisen. They have also requested the court to order the relevant mobile network providers to provide analytical reports of another 10 numbers. The Chief Magistrate had accepted both requests made by the police.
