COLOMBO (News 1st): The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has prepared a plan for the next 06-days, based on a list of those who are yet to receive the second dose of the AstraZeneca jab, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday (Jul. 07). "Those who are yet to receive the second dose of the jab will be informed via an SMS, the day prior to the date of vaccination. For example, someone who is to receive the vaccine tomorrow will be informed of the relevant details today. Therefore, anyone who has not received an SMS as of now, should not panic," Dr. Hemantha Herath, the Deputy Director-General of Health Services explained. Moreover, the SMS will be sent only to those who provided their mobile number; while, those who provided a fixed-line number, will be informed via a phone call. In the event, there is an error in the contact details provided (due to shortcomings in the documentation process), and the recipient cannot be informed on the matter, a telegram will be sent to the mail address provided, Dr. Hemantha Herath noted. "Therefore, those who are yet to receive the second dose of the jab after receiving the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine should remain patiently until a message is sent to you with the relevant information on the date and location of vaccination," Dr. Herath emphasized. The Deputy Director-General of Health Services further added, "If you do not receive a message towards the end of these 06-days, you may contact the respective doctor assigned for the matter at the Colombo Municipal Council."
