National Movement for Social Justice condemns threat to media

COLOMBO (News 1st); The National Movement for Social Justice on Wednesday (07) said media freedom is a right and this right was only taken away in the past by uncivilized regimes and by dictatorial, authoritarian rulers.

But all those attempts were ultimately defeated by the civilized people around the world, said Former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya as the Chairman of the National Movement for Social Justice .

The National Movement for Social Justice emphasized if anyone tries to take the country back to an era with a terrifying past, it is the responsibility of the democratic forces in this country to defeat it at its inception.

Accordingly, all democratic forces must unite now and forget all divisions, said the statement by Karu Jayasuriya.
