COLOMBO (News 1st); Samagi Jana Balavegaya Parliamentarian S. M. Marikkar said the entire government has failed and revealed his list of ‘TOP 10’ failures in government.
Marikkar said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa tops the list as he has been unable to create a working country, however, what he managed to create was a failed country.
He said Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa comes second in the list for allowing those accused of committing the Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam to re-open their alcohol production plants, rather than arresting them.
‘The third is Namal Rajapaksa,’ he said adding the Sports Minister had moved cricket in Sri Lanka to the dark ages.
S.M. Marikkar said Health Ministry Pavithra Wanniarachchi comes in at number four in the failures list for promoting tonics and closing places of worship while permitting spas to operate.
He went on to note that Education Minister (Professor) G. L. Peiris for depriving children of poor families of learning via online platforms.
Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage is number 05 in the list for creating a food shortage in the country while promising rice will not be imported to the country, he said.
The SJB MP also said Minister Bandula Gunawardena made it into the list for increasing the prices of various goods and permitting the inflow of black money to the country.
He said Minister Udaya Gammanpila makes it into the list because his decision to increase fuel prices led to the rise in prices of almost all essential items.
S. M. Marikkar went on to note that the Ports and Shipping Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena created a situation where the West Container Terminal was to be sold to India.
The MP said Public Security Minister Sarath Weerasekera is on the list as the people and the Cardinal await those responsible for the 2019 April Attacks to be punished.
S. M. Marikkar said the ruling faction, ‘Pohottuwa’, is a group that is filled with lies and deception.
