COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police will install 1,200 permanent & snap roadblocks across the country, in order the monitor the movement of the general public.

In addition, Sri Lanka Police conducted special roadblocks at the Entry & Exit points of the Western Province.

Police Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said 6,694 people & 3,935 vehicles were checked at 14 roadblocks on the border of the Western Province on Wednesday (23).

Special Police Units have also been deployed to raid illegal parties and gatherings, he said.
