COLOMBO (News 1st); Only the required number of staff must be called into work for essential services, by the head of the institution, announced the Director-General of Health Services on Monday (21).

Issuing a statement, the Director-General of Health Dr. Asela Gunawardena said state institutions that do not fall under essential services may call employees to work only twice a week, and only if there is no possibility of the employee’s task being carried out remotely.

Furthermore, such institutions must arrange transport in accordance with health guidelines as public transport will only be available for those working in essential services.
