COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has called on the government to immediately intervene to solve the employment issue of those who passed the Korean Proficiency Examination.

"Some five thousand youth who have passed the Korean Proficiency Examination during the year 2018 and expect to go for Korean Employments have already become helpless due to utter negligence and irresponsibility of the government," he said in a statement.

There are some 1600 of them on Service Agreements and around other 2500 on the waiting list and their two-year period of employment is nearing its end, he said adding that the government is making fun of the lives of the younger generation hiding behind Corona disaster, while countries such as Thailand, China, Laos, and Vietnam have already sent their labourers to Korea.

'One of the most serious outcomes of this lack of interest is that our country becomes deprived of Korean Quota which would go to other countries,' he said.
