X-Press Pearl local agent granted bail; barred from traveling overseas

COLOMBO (News 1st); Arjuna Hettiarachchri, the Chairman of the Sea Consortium Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, the local agent for X-Press Pearl who was arrested on Wednesday (16) by the CID was released on bail after he was produced in court.

Hattiarachchi was arrested when he appeared at the CID to provide a statement and was later produced to Colombo High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte.

The Judge ordered for the suspect to be released on a cash bail of Rs. 100,000/- and two surety bails of Rs. 01 Million each.

In addition, he was barred from traveling overseas and was ordered to surrender his passport to the court.
