Japan responds positively to SL request for AstraZeneca doses

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Japanese Government has positively responded to Sri Lanka’s request to acquire the AstraZeneca vaccine.

According to the President's Media Division, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had made a request for 600,000 doses of the vaccine to Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.

In addition, the Government of Japan has agreed to provide medical equipment to combat COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.
