COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Disaster Management Center has urged the general public to follow the advice of the authorities in order to protect lives from the inclement weather, at a time when COVID-19 cases are spiking.
Maj. Gen. (Retd) Sudantha Ranasinghe, the Director General of the Disaster Management Centre speaking to News 1st said it is important to take note of the Warnings issued by the DMC and other stakeholders.
"There are some who continue to disregard the CODE RED weather warnings. They don't evacuate and continue to remain in their houses," he said.
