Dengue on the rise in Sri Lanka; Over 7,000 dengue patients reported in 2021

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Health Ministry had warned of rising dengue cases in the country, as the island nation also battles the spread of the coronavirus.

According to Dr. Aruna Jayasekara, Director of the Ministry of Health's National Dengue Control Unit warned that dengue is spreading across the Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Matale and Kandy Districts.

7,873 dengue patients were reported so far in 2021 in Sri Lanka while 04 people had died of dengue.
