COLOMBO (News 1st): The body of the 16-year-old girl, one of the two people missing following the landslide in Ratnapura was recovered, Police said on Friday afternoon (Jun. 04).

The mother of the child was also injured in the landslide and she was admitted for treatment.

Search operations continue to locate the other missing person.

The general public is requested to inform the Police, the respective Public Health Inspector (PHI), or the Medical Officer of Health (MOH), if anyone affected by the floods requires to leave their homes, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana stressed.
