COLOMBO (News 1st); A high rainfall exceeding around 175 mm was reported in most of Middle Reach / Downstream catchment areas of Kalu River basin, said the Department of Irrigation on Friday (04) .

By analyzing the current rainfall situation and river water level of Hydrological stations in Kalu River, it is warned that there is a high possibility of the current minor flood situation in low line areas of Kalu River Valley situated in Horana, Agalawatta, Ingiriya, Palinda Nuwara, Bulathsinhala, Dodangoda, Millaniya, Madurawala and Kalutara D/S Divisions further worsening.
