Post Offices & Sub-Post Offices open from today (03)

COLOMBO (News 1st): All Post Offices and Sub-Post Offices will be open from Thursday (Jun 03) for limited operations such as the payment of public allowances for the month of June and the distribution of medicines. Accordingly, the general public will be permitted to visit Post Offices and Sub-Post Offices by showing the relevant Payment Card or Elders' Identity Card to the security authorities. The distribution of medicines issued by clinics of government hospitals for patients under home-care will commence from Friday (Jun. 04) as per a request from the Ministry of Health and Presidential Task Force, the Department of Posts said. The Postal Department informed the public that further information in this regard could be obtained via the hotline 1950.
