COLOMBO (News1st): Ven. Muruththettuwe Ananda Thero has said that he has requested authorities to take steps to administer the second dose of the COVID-19 jab.

“I have made a written request from the health ministry, the Prime Minister, the health secretary and the health minister,” Ven. Ananda Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the Abhayaramaya Temple said.

He criticized the health minister for expressing careless remarks regarding the country’s vaccination drive.

“If they are misleading the people by disregarding these letters, then I express my regret over that,” the Chief Incumbent noted.

He pointed out that those who backed the government into power have been “deceived and defeated”.
