COLOMBO (News 1st); Chandimal Jayasinghe, Sri Lanka’s famous pageant director and actress Piumi Hansamali who were arrested for hosting a birthday party, were released on personal bail of Rs. 01 Million each.

Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects had hosted a birthday party at a hotel in Colombo on Sunday (30) night.

The suspects were produced at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court following the arrest.

The case will be called up again on the 27th of August 2021.

In addition, the police had observed CCTV footage of the venue and it was revealed that 25 people had attended the birthday party.

“12 of them were identified and investigations are underway to identify the rest of the party-goers,” said the Police Spokesperson.
