SL orders 14 Million Sinopharm doses; 03 million doses to arrive in June

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lankan government has made an order for 14 million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, said President's Spokesperson Kingsly Ratnayake on Thursday (20).

03 million doses from this order will reach Sri Lanka in June 2021, he added.

In addition, the Sri Lankan Embassy in China announced that China will give another 500,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine.

A discussion on the vaccine had also taken place between President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka on Wednesday (19).

According to the Sri Lankan Embassy in China, it will coordinate the air freighting of the 500,000 doses of the vaccine to Sri Lanka as soon as they are received.
