COLOMBO (News 1st); More than 04 people connected to the education sector have died of COVID-19, it was revealed at a press conference on Monday (17).
Ceylon Teachers Union (CTU) General Secretary Joseph Stalin called on the government to provide the vaccine to teachers and principals before deciding to re-open schools in the country.
A COVID-19 infected school teacher addressing the press conference remotely said she was transferred to several places after testing positive and had to pay Rs. 10,000 to hail a private taxi to relocate for treatment as she was denied transport in an ambulance.
