COLOMBO (News1st): Criticism had been levelled against moves by former Russian Ambassador Udayanga Weeratunga to bring down more Russian tourists to Sri Lanka under the bio-bubble concept.

According to a report published by the Daily News, the island's east coast would be their main site of attraction this time.

Speaking to the Daily News, Udayanga Weerathunga had further stated that plans have already been made for these tourists to visit archaeological sites without coming into contact with the general public.

"Do you want people to go into self-quarantine so the tourists can go sightseeing around the island?" Wasantha Samarasinghe, the convenor of the Voice Against Corruption movement said.

"Therefore we urge the government not to act foolishly again during this crisis," he added.
