COLOMBO (News 1st): The spill gates of four (04) reservoirs were opened, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said on Friday morning (May 14).

As a result of the heavy showers experienced in certain parts of the country, the spill gates of the Kukuleganga, Udawalawa, Norton, and Canyon reservoirs were opened, Pradeep Kodippili, the Assistant Director at the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) told News 1st.

Moreover, the water level of the Gin river at the Baddegama water-metre has exceeded the spill level.
