COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Cricket is proposing to assist India by hosting matches of the suspended Indian Premier League.
Professor Arjuna de Silva, the Head of the Cricket Management Committee at SLC speaking to News 1st said, if the organizers of the Indian Premier League need assistance, SLC is ready to consider hosting IPL matches.
“Sri Lanka’s pandemic situation is not is a positive state and we are not able to assist anyone. However, many teams have made it clear that our Bio-Bubble is above normal standards. In addition, we have the necessary hotels,” said Professor Arjuna de Silva.
“This is only an idea. The sports minister had made it clear to bring international sports to Sri Lanka while keeping the country safe,” he said.
