COLOMBO (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services confirmed Fourteen (14) deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection on Wednesday (5th). The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 734, said the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).   01. The deceased is a 51 year old female resident in Hingurakgoda. She was transferred from Welikanda Special Covid Treatment Centre to the General Hospital Polonnaruwa where she died on 04.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as pneumonia due to Covid 19 infection. 02. The deceased is a 35 year old female resident in Aralaganwila, Polonnaruwa. She died on 04.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Special Covid Treatment Centre Welikanda. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, and Schizophrenia. 03. The deceased is a 66 year old female resident in Gonapala. She died on 04.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Horana. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia. 04. The deceased is a 76 year old male resident in Bulathkohupitiya. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Karawanella and transferred to Base Hospital Theldeniya where he died on 05.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Hypertension. 05. The deceased is a 70 year old male resident in Dewanagala. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 while undergoing treatments in Police Hospital and transferred to IDH Hospital where he died on 04.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Stroke, Covid 19 infection, Hypertension, Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease. . 06. The deceased is a 70 year old female resident in Gallella. She died on 04.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Special Covid Treatment Center Welikanda. The cause of death is mentioned as Acute Covid pneumonia. 07. The deceased is a 55 year old male resident in Thirappane. He died on 04.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Teaching Hospital Anuradhapura. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid 19 infection. 08. The deceased is a 66 year old male resident in Wattala. He died on 05.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo.
