75 arrested for breaching quarantine regulations: Police

COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police arrested 75 people from nightclubs, spas, and betting centres for the violation of quarantine regulations, during a special operation launched on Tuesday (May 04). The arrests were made during a special operation conducted from 4:00 pm Tuesday evening (04) till 1:00 am on Wednesday morning (05), Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana told News 1st. According to the Deputy Police Chief, among the arrested are, seven (07) managers and 19 employees of the respective institutions; the remaining 50 are those who visited the locations in violation of quarantine regulations. During the special operation, 47 nightclubs, 105 betting centres, and 133 spas were inspected by Police.
