COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police detected 815 counterfeit notes with the Rs. 1000/- denomination from a house in Kilinochchi.
One person was arrested by the Kilinochchi Police, said DIG Ajith Rohana adding there is a rise in printing counterfeit notes in the country.
He requested the general public to pay extra attention to the notes they receive and if a person has such a note one must immediately report it to the nearest police station.
“Using a counterfeit note for a transaction will make you a party to the crime,” warned the Police Spokesperson.
