Sri Lanka hits another record high in daily COVID infections on Friday (30)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka reported a record 1,662 COVID-19 cases on Friday (30) making it the highest number of infections reported in a single day in the island nation.

1,636 of these cases were from the New Year Cluster which replaced the Peliyagoda Cluster while the remaining 26 are those who returned from overseas and tested positive for the coronavirus.
