Sri Lanka likely to receive Russia's Sputnik-V jabs this week

COLOMBO (News 1st): The first consignment of Russia's Sputnik-V Vaccines will arrive in Sri Lanka sometime this week, State Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana told News 1st on Tuesday (Apr. 27). "As of now, the Russian manufacturing company has confirmed that measures will be taken to provide the Sputnik-V jab to Sri Lanka. We are likely to receive the vaccine consignment in the coming week," Prof. Channa Jayasumana, the State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulation of Pharmaceuticals said. According to Prof. Channa Jayasumana, discussions are currently underway in arranging transport facilities to bring down the consignment to Sri Lanka. "We are most likely to receive confirmation either today or tomorrow, on when the airline facilities will be made available," the State Minister noted.
