1000 New National Schools to be established

COLOMBO (News 1st): The first phase of establishing 1000 new National Schools will commence on the 29th of April, the Ministry of Education said on Friday (Apr. 23) According to Secretary to the Education Ministry, Prof. Kapila Perera, under this programme, a new national school will be established in each province. The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Siyambalanduwa Maha Vidyalaya. Under the first phase of the programme, new National Schools will be established in 123 Divisional Secretariat Divisions, the Education Secretary said. Accordingly, each Divisional Secretariat will have two national schools in the future.
